Kampung Sumangkap Gong Factory

In the Rungus culture, the gong, an endemic musical instrument, plays a pivotal part during festivals and grand celebrations such as weddings. The gongs sold in Kampung Sumangkap vary in sizes—from small to large souvenirs that can reach up to 2 meters wide in diameter, with different shapes and unique designs (price ranging from RM5 to RM50)

Those who intend to visit in large groups will enjoy the cultural performances performed by the villagers of Kampung Sumangkap in the Community Hall. Visitors have the chance to see how the kulintangan (a set of different sized gongs producing different sounds)is played.
