Timbua Water Rafting

Timbua Water Rafting is one of community-based tourism in Ranau which offering 15km of bamboo rafting experience which is first in Malaysia. The Timbua Water Rafting commenced operations in the middle of 2018 and located at Timbua village Ranau, 30km from Ranau town.

The water source from Sugud River in Timbua village comes from Mount Kinabalu. Apart from the Sugud River, there are other exciting attractions such as the paddy field, culture and traditional cuisine of the local community, which promises an extraordinary experience.

Getting There

It’s about 142km from Kota Kinabalu or about 3 hours and 14-minutes drive. You can opt for a Mini Bus or Taxi from Merdeka Field Bus Station at Jalan Padang, Kota Kinabalu. The schedule departure time will be from 7.00am until 5.00pm with an estimated cost of RM20.00 for 1-way minibus ride. Upon reaching Ranau town, find a private taxi to get to Timbua Village which cost about RM7.00.
