Batu Gong, Tambunan

Nature is never short of things for us human to marvel at, and Batu Gong is one of those wonders. This entirely natural rock produces sound that is similar to those of the Dusun traditional gongs, hence the name. Yes, this is a singing rock. If you want to experience the beating of the traditional Dusun gongs, come to Solibog Village, Tambunan and try your hands at beating these rocks, which emits different pitches of sounds when struck at the right spots. The intriguing “Batu Gong” or musical stones were discovered in 1995 at the Pegalan River, Solibog Village.
